The Europe Yatra is a spiritual journey taken up by the devotees of Hare Krishna Temple, headed to various sites of bhakti in the Krishna tradition around Europe. In 1966, A.C. Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, or ISKCON, as it is known today. The Europe Yatra usually involves going to major temples as well as religious centers and places of historical interest regarding Lord Krishna and the Vaishnava tradition in various countries across Europe. The Bhaktivedanta Manor in the United Kingdom is one of the Yatra’s major stops. As well as containing several of the most famous ISKCON temples in Britain, it serves as the European headquarters for the movement. Radhadesh, a spiritual community and retreat center surrounded by picturesque natural landscapes, is part of the Yatra, too. ISKCON Paris, New Mayapur, New Jagannath Puri, New Vrindavan, and many others are stops on this Europe Yatra. During the Europe Yatra, devotees engage in various spiritual activities, which include chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, listening to talks or lectures by senior devotees, and taking part in devotional rituals and ceremonies serving as spiritual renewal, cultural immersion—and connecting with a growing global community of devotees is how the Yatra reaches out to people.
